ODroid Cloudshell 2 (Part 2) – Software & Configuration

Welcome to Part 2 of the Cloudshell videos, in this part we configure the software required to get this bad boy ready to accept and serve files. There are a couple of routes we can go for software, basic Linux (Ubuntu) or OMV (Open Media Vault) and of course I chose to set this up using Ubuntu.

The idea is to have a 12TB NAS Server using 2x6TB Hard Drives, and since the ODroid XU4 is the brains of the operation, we should be able to achieve gigabit speed or about 110MB/s.

Play modern games on your Pi. Getting started with RetroPie and Parsec.

The Raspberry Pi makes for one awesome retro gaming machine. From Commodore64, to NES, to Playstation. While some of these consoles work better than others, and sometimes different games can be difficult, we can play modern AAA titles with our Raspberry Pi. Who wouldn’t want to play GTA V on a Raspberry Pi in the living room instead of on a chair at the desk?

That’s what we’re going to do today.

Modifying a USB to Sata adapter cable for use with a Raspberry Pi!

I recently upgraded the SSD in my laptop, and now I have an SSD kicking around not being used as a system drive, and at 120GB, it’s not going to be used for a storage drive either! Time to get creative!

The plan: Modify the USB 3.0 to Sata Adapter Cable so there will be two USB plugs now, one for data, one for power.

ODroid Go (Video) - Portable Emulator - Unboxing, Assembly, Configuration, Gameplay with Video!

The ODroid Go is a kit containing all the parts required to make a Gameboy style retro gaming console using very low power parts. It runs GameBoy, Gameboy Color, NES, & Sega Game Gear on a 2.4 Inch 320×240 screen.

Mission: Build & play with the ODroid Go. Then figure out what other fun can be had with it.

Difficulty Level: Shouldn’t be that hard.

Result: Wasn’t that hard.
